I remember when I moved here to Elgin around this time last year, there was such turbulence, turmoil, heaviness and uncertainty in my life and what I had courageously chosen to leave behind.

The darkening days were reminding me that now was the time to rest, release and recharge; yet the most unexpected and unusual sight of spotting this gorgeous, flirty, pink hued, honey scented bush had also filled me with a sense of wonder, positivity and trust.

This beautiful blossom is the Verbirnum x bodnantense Dawn and it blooms in winter: proving, just like the Japanese idiom of Oubaitori states, that everyone blooms and grows at their own pace 😌

So, my love, as we near the end of this year, if you’ve been filled with guilt, doubt, disappointment, anger, frustration and fears that you are not far enough along or you won’t ever get to where you are “meant to be”, I invite you to call in the medicine of this flower, and trust in your own path, your own journey, and make the radical decision to ditch the timelines and expectations placed upon you.

Remember, everyone blooms in their own time - but there has never been a better time to start: trusting that you are right on time.
